Sarah
C. Sullivan (Lab Manager)
Sarah graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2002 with a
B.A. in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Washington State
University.
As an undergraduate, Sarah worked with Dr. Andrew Lotto studying phonetic
context effects and sex differences in speech. She joined
UT’s Psychology Department in the Fall of 2002 and received her
M.A. in Cognitive and Perceptual Psychology in the summer of 2005.
Sarah is now interested in speaker normalization, auditory perception by
cochlear implant users as well as applying Bayesian statistical models to
auditory categorization.

Gayatri Rao
Gayatri received her B.S. in
Computer Engineering from the University
of Michigan in May
2001. Her undergrad research involved modeling the acquisition of German
and English syntax by bilingual children using genetic algorithms.
Her current work with Dr. Diehl focuses on the acoustic correlates of
breathy voice, specifically the spectral tilt.
